1. Who Is Quanyin?

Quanyin, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, is often referred to as Great Compassion Bodhisattva or Goddess of Mercy. Bodhisattvas are enlightened (or almost enlightened) beings who aspire to Buddhahood not only for themselves, but for all other sentient beings as well. Quanyin literally means the one who now looks down upon the world and hears its cries in Chinese.

Quanyin is the most popular goddess in China and perhaps throughout East Asia, who is equivalent to St. Maria in the Christian tradition. For more info about Quanyin Buddha, you may visit Wikipedia.

2. A Story of Quanyin Enlightenment Day

When Quanyin was still practicing, Sakyamuni Buddha predicted to her that she would achieve enlightenment when her Purity Vase becomes filled with water. One day, when Quanyin's disciple, Shan Cai was cleaning, he inadvertently dropped the Purity Vase, and all the water inside disappeared. Shan Cai was afraid, so he secretly brought the Purity Vase to river to fill it up with water, and planted a willow branch in it. Later when Quanyin heard the report that the water in the Purity Vase was full, she said, my time to become Buddha had come and the karma had ripened, so I shall achieve enlightenment tomorrow. So she did, and it was on June 19 in the lunar calendar (i.e. August 1 in regular calendar) that has been celebrated ever since.

4. "Why we age" by Steven N. A. and Qinway's Rejuvenation Techniques

In his popular book "Why We Age," Steven N. Austad explained "What Science Is Discovering about the Body's Journey Through Life." According to Austad, aging occurs at different levels. The definitions of aging vary at the organic, cellular, and molecular levels, and aging is primarily a result of "genes" and the "environment".

This echos with Qinway's rejuvenation theory focusing on arranging a high energy closed Qi field, and using "energy infusion and detoxification" techniques to let universal energy (Qi) penetrate through the five layers of the human body (i.e., skin, muscle, blood, bone, and marrow) to the deepest level to improve genes. 7. Dr. John Chen Interviewed by Hawaii Olelo TV

Qinway director Dr. John Chen was interviewed by Hawaii Olelo TV station in a post polio outreach program, where he shared his experiences and understanding of Qigong, and how Qigong can transform your life with some demonstrations.
